The project focused on enhancing both indoor and outdoor guest environments by upgrading the lighting for the model guest room, pool deck, and pool bar. Courtyard Marriott Aruba partnered with Project Lighting Solutions to design, supply, and install tailored lighting systems that meet Marriott’s aesthetic, functional, and energy-efficiency standards.
The Challenge
The hotel sought to create a refreshed and inviting atmosphere that aligned with Marriott’s evolving brand image while providing guests with an elevated visual and experiential environment. The model guest room needed lighting that complemented its modern design concept, while the pool deck and pool bar required outdoor lighting solutions that balanced ambience, safety, and durability in a coastal climate. The challenge lay in delivering high-quality, weather-resistant lighting systems that seamlessly integrated with the architectural and interior design, all while adhering to the brand’s strict guidelines.
Our Solution
Project Lighting Solutions was entrusted with the complete design, supply, and installation of the new lighting systems for these key areas. Working closely with Marriott’s design team, we developed custom lighting concepts for the model guest room, ensuring optimal light levels, color temperature, and fixture style to enhance comfort and aesthetics. For the pool deck and pool bar, we selected marine-grade, corrosion-resistant fixtures designed to withstand Aruba’s tropical conditions while delivering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for evening guests. The lighting layout was carefully planned to highlight architectural features, enhance wayfinding, and ensure safety without overpowering the natural beauty of the outdoor spaces
The Design
Warm color temperatures were chosen to complement the natural wood tones and maintain a sacred ambiance. Each fixture was discreetly installed to preserve the building’s visual integrity during the day. The result is a subtle yet powerful nighttime presence that honors the Cathedral’s heritage.
The Design
The lighting design was developed in strict alignment with Marriott’s Generation 6.5 brand standards. All fixtures, finishes, and placements were selected to match the specified aesthetic and functional requirements. Layouts were created to deliver the right balance of task lighting and ambient comfort in each space. Guest rooms, corridors, and public areas all received brand-approved, energy-efficient LED fixtures.
The Result
Courtyard Marriott Aruba now features a model guest room that reflects the brand’s contemporary vision, complemented by outdoor pool and bar areas that offer both comfort and elegance after sunset. The upgraded lighting enhances the overall guest experience, improves energy efficiency, and supports the hotel’s long-term operational goals.
