Courtyard Marriott Paramaribo PIP
As part of a global brand refresh, Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo underwent a Property Improvement Project (PIP) to align with Marriott’s latest Generation 6.5 design standards. The renovation aimed to enhance the overall guest experience by modernizing the property’s lighting throughout guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces. To meet these requirements, the hotel partnered with Project Lighting Solutions to supply and install a complete lighting upgrade.
The Challenge
The existing lighting at Courtyard Marriott Paramaribo no longer met the updated design and brand standards set by Marriott International. The hotel required a full replacement of all lighting systems as part of its PIP initiative. This included delivering customized solutions for a variety of areas, ranging from guest rooms and hallways to common areas, while minimizing disruption to ongoing hotel operations and maintaining the brand’s hospitality-focused environment.

Project Lighting Solutions was selected to manage the removal of outdated lighting and the full installation of new systems in accordance with Marriott's Generation 6.5 guidelines. The Design
Warm color temperatures were chosen to complement the natural wood tones and maintain a sacred ambiance. Each fixture was discreetly installed to preserve the building’s visual integrity during the day. The result is a subtle yet powerful nighttime presence that honors the Cathedral’s heritage.
The Design
The lighting design was developed in strict alignment with Marriott’s Generation 6.5 brand standards. All fixtures, finishes, and placements were selected to match the specified aesthetic and functional requirements. Layouts were created to deliver the right balance of task lighting and ambient comfort in each space. Guest rooms, corridors, and public areas all received brand-approved, energy-efficient LED fixtures.
The Installation
Installation was carried out with careful coordination to minimize disruption to hotel operations and ensure a smooth transition. We managed the complete removal of the existing lighting systems and installed all new fixtures in compliance with Marriott’s Generation 6.5 standards.
